Gator Bait Wakeboard & Wake Surf School offers private wakeboard and wakesurf lessons in Miami’s Biscayne Bay, operating from Rickenbacker Marina in Key Biscayne. Whether you’re a first-timer or an advanced rider, our USCG-licensed coaches provide personalized instruction behind the newest MasterCraft boats.

Our Team
Nick Fernandez
Nick Fernandez has been one of our students since 2009 and he started working with us in 2019. He's proven to be an amazing asset to Gator Bait's success! He is an awesome rider (2020 Collegiate Wakeboard Champion), super friendly, and so fun to be around. Nick is also a certified tournament boat driver through USA Wakeboard, The WWA, and The IWWF. He also has his USCG Captain's License and is trained in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR.
Drew DeArmas
Drew de Armas started working with us in 2023 and he is a true waterman. He can wakeboard, wakesurf, wakeskate, slalom ski, trickski, barefoot... whatever! Always happy and always smiling! Drew has his USCG Captain's License and is trained in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR.
Carson Booth
Carson Booth also started with us in 2023 and is super excited to be working with us. He grew up wakeboarding and wakesurfing in Orlando and decided to move down to Miami to work for Gator Bait. He has his USCG Captain's License and is trained in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR.
Zach Svingos
Zach Svingos started working with us in 2025 and loves his job. He was a long-time customer of our's and grew up wakeboarding and wakesurfing. He also has his USCG Captain's License and is trained in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR.

The boat, coach/captain, gas, all gear, and taxes are all included in the price. No surprises!

We work with first timers all of the time! Our coaches are pros on getting you up and riding. We have great techniques to get you riding asap. From 4 years old to 70 years old, we’ve coached all ages and ability levels.

The boats are located at the docks in the water behind Gramps Getaway restaurant (the grass roof structure). Once you park you can walk out next to where the forklifts are operating. Look for an inflatable green alligator on top of the boat to know it’s us!

We allow cancellations/modifications up to within 12 hours of your appointment time. If it is within 12 hours of your scheduled time we charge the half of the booking amount.

We recommend guests bring towels, sunscreen and any water/drinks/ice desired. We do have a cooler under the seat in the boat but do not provide ice.
